Sorry, I have no idea on price of an alloy 5.3.... never chased one or had anyone local mentioned about one to me off hand. You could look around on ebay a bit for a general idea at least perhaps here.
As for engine numbers...iron or alloy should all have the VIN number stamped in them somewhere I would say. (never looked at the 5.3 in my own truck) but they do it from the factory for all new stuff. Suppose new crate engines would be exempt obviously at least from that.

Can't think of any local place to grab one... I'd just order it online and have it shipped and grab it when you were in the area probably. Be the best price that way too. Check Summit, etc.

I do have a VU SS ute over here though that's been my daily driver for a few months so far at least !
I've got a bit of just this and that to ship this batch around so far at the moment, but still looking around for a couple more things as well.

Doesn't seem to be a ton of stuff around locally right at the moment actually (been looking for a few trucks) hopefully once all this rain stops and weather gets more back to normal people will start selling stuff again.

how long would it take and what are the American customs like to deal with ?
I would most likely fill up the interior with bits and pieces

I'll have to check on prices on containers this way, but figure on about $4000 to land it here for the car. Customs this end isn't too bad... I have the paperwork taken care of by a company, and now and then they do get searched coming in (same as can happen that end of course) but over all it is pretty easy to deal with.

I've been a bit flat out lately but catching up with things just in time to start loading containers again actually, lol... Be loading again starting in a couple weeks time or so.
