We have jus approved the fitment of the LH LX headlamp rim (to suit round lights)and are now ready to paint them. Can anyone help with the colours we should paint them. I believe there is sliver (grey) and black but what are the exact colours and in what ratio should we paint them ie how many sliver to black. Hoping somebody can help.

Hi Les

I don't beleive that you will sell too many if they are painted Silver.

All LH (L34 and G Pak) and all LX, from the S to the SS/ SLR models were painted black, with the edge of the alloy rim showing.

As far as colour goes, I am pretty sure that it was a satin black that Holden applied from new. Some other may be able to correct me if I am wrong.

Just a question, what do these look like selling at?

cheers
Mick

I believe Mick is correct about the black, but I thought the outer rim wasnt just bare alloy but had somer sort of chromed?? coating. I dont think its actually coated by a conventional chroming process more like a chrome type of paint process. Im sure I recall sanding this off when i re-painted mine.

Black, and then just plain... Something that can be shined right up and look great!

I'd love a new set of un-chipped polished ones.

Yeah i reckon a polished option and black is the go, obviously more in black as its the more popular/common

As Bomber said, the right car/colour polished ones are pretty awesome, i'm a fan of them on orange/green

I agree on black sets with the outer rim and others just bare alloy you can polish up. or if there polished from factory then anodised thatd be great

Hi All

I just recieved a set of these new LX Headlight Rims off Rare Spares and I must say that I would not hesitate in buying a set!

They are great and they fit nicely.

One thing for you Les and Cav... Are you going to supply these with the screws, speednuts, etc as you do for the GTS ones?

I will install them on one of the cars this weekend and take some pictures!

Good work guys, I know that people have been waiting along time for these..

cheers
Mick

thanks for the feedback mick, i honestly havent looked into the screws and fitting kit yet as we were concentrating on the rim itself but yes we will be selling these with all the screws etc once stock has arrived

theres a high chance les has already worked all the screws out etc

Does anyone have a picture of the silver or chrome headlight rims on their car?
