What colour is this?

Is it still available? If so, who would stock moulded floor carpet for LH.

Knox/Tru-Fit do not stock it.

When you find a supplier let me know, been looking for some for my HJ Premier with 60V trim. 60A is heaps easier as it uses black carpet!

Don't some of the larger after market car carpet suppliers do custom colours?

Couldn't you supply a photo or a sample and see if they could match it for you?

Just a suggestion

For those interested, I was talking to my local auto paint store and they have a water based paint system to paint velour and carpet. I saw some carpet and velour door trim he had cleaned and half painted and it looked great... didn't feel at all painted either and was soft as it should be. The carpet was originally black and he had repainted it brown. They have the codes for most Holden interior colours but if you can give him a sample of some carpet he will colour match it for you.

I bought some Covert paint from them for a lower dash I am restoring and the colour is an exact match.

Wow. That's interesting. Could you please give me some more information in regards to brand? Or where the paint store was?

Reply from Betta Auto Rubbers:

Hello

Carpet colours are being reduced, not increased by the carpet manufacturers, we certainly have never had Covert in any of the Australian Made Car Carpet colour samples .... I believe it was one of the Generals, one off short term things that is pretty much designed to cause massive grief to anyone trying to restore their car to 100% original ... It is my opinion that you will need to settle for a sensible colour, that suits the remainder of your interior!

Best wishes,

Ian.

Just curious, is the 64W in the trim details; Gazelle vinyl with covert carpet?

hanra,

Are you still looking for details on Covert carpet and trim?

I have a very original UC with a Covert and Chamois interior. Covert is a sort of yucky olive green. I've also seen it in an HX or HZ Holden (can't remember which one) and an LX Torana. I can post a photo if you like.

I have searched far and wide for Covert trim (my UC Torana has Covert carpet, console, dash, steering wheel etc. Seats and door trim are Chamois).

The only place I have found is a company called Winner Products in Adelaide (www.winnerproducts.com.au). I haven't bought anything from them yet so I can't comment.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers

Yes, please do; this site is used as a reference and I'm sure someone out there one day will google Covert Carpet and want to know what it looks like.

I took this photo at cars n coffee in the summer.

Owner swears its a factory original chamois covert HZ with ridgey didge interior.

Its not a great photo but you can get the general idea of it. carpet looks to be a browny, tan colour. It also means that the green carpet I put in my covert/chamois sandman is wrong...

Covert seems to be greeny on the trim/dash etc. But everyone Ive asked about the Covert carpet says its very close to the Buckskin colour that I bought.
