My names Josh and i have a passion for panel beating. I have started a blog on the journey i will be going through Restoring an LH torana that will have a CARBY LS1 on Nitros powering it ;) Become a follower on blogger to check out my regular updares would be good to have a descent following. Worth a look at least any way. Cheers everyone :)

My dads A9X at his wedding in 1989. I will be doing my car up as a relpica of this, excpet with twice the looks and power :)

Carby LS1 includes, CNC Ported Heads, Forged Rods and Pistons, Roller Rockers, Edelbrock intake, Moroso Sump, Bullet Cam all freshly rebuilt by my just signed off tradesman engine builder brother

Just to show my torana passion is in my blood, this is my dads LX 253 SLR which was his first car he bought brand new. Stuffs me why he went to the trouble of putting an SLR5000 sticker on the front gaurd :P :P

I am also the proud owner of another 2 Toranas. Both are LX's and have minimal rust and in my opinion are in PRETTY SMICK CONDITION for their age :) :)

potential restorations for down the track ;)

So how do you get past rego with a carb LS1
Or don't they notice such things up your way ?

Here you have to comply with the emission regs of the engine if its newer than the car... so no carbs on LS engines

Time came to strIp the car of its multi layers of paint.... To discover BIG headaches... LUCKY IM A PANEL BEATER :buttrock:

the bottom radiator support panel was plated with sheet steel :-S

Time to start elimenating the mother f%^*$^&ing rust :shoot:

Mate 10 years ago had a very nice 5 speed EL XR6, went hard but other mates 5 speed VR V6 and XR8 went faster.
nothing wrong with the burnout them XRs loved it.

Haha cheers, Neil my EL was a 5 speed as well had worked done and used to beat EF XR8's and VN commodores :P

How much power do expect out of the carby LS1 ?

I cut out the bumps and holes where the brake lines went and fabricated a piece to sit in the with the right profile and welded it in. Brother said it should be good for round 450 500 hp,(600 with 150 shot) but wont know till he dynos it at work next couple of weeks. :D
