G'day all.....
Question about V8 radiators. Was there a 2 core and 3 core radiator for the Torana, or did the V8 just come out with a 3 core?

I am pretty sure that they came out with 2 core radiators from factory also.

2 core and heavy duty 2 core (tubes spaced closer together) for A/C etc AFAIK.
Even A9X had 2 core OEM...
Two row (as in two rows of tubes), three row etc as we called them in the trade as the core is the whole part between the tanks.

Ahhhh ok....
All the ones I see on ebay are quoted as being 3 core, but the one i got with my motor yesterday is a 2 core.
So 2 core in a V8 was standard? What are the "3 core" ones on eBay then? HQ - HZ?

Can't remember if Statesman has three row or if they were just an Aftermarket option.
FWIW the core on the LH/LX and HQ/HZ is the same size, tanks are the same just the band is slightly different.
Two row and three row tanks and bands do not interchange, the whole assembly is a different thickness, hence GM had the 2 row heavy duty option.

Standard V8 was 2 core 1/2 inch cores. Factory air is 3 cores 1/2 inch cores. A9X is still 2 core 1/2 inch cores but much closer together and a different type of fin.
