G'day,

Does anybody know either the name or code of the colour used on the LH bonnet hinge springs? It's sort of a mustard looking colour... I've been looking and none of the auto paint stores seems to know...

Cheers

Did some research.

Early LX's had grey springs, not dissimilar to the colour of Grey Ferguson's
Late LX's (including A9X's) springs were colour coded to the body

My LX is an early 76 build car mostly unmolested and it has grey springs on zinc plated hinges.

Actually, not totally correct. Not all A9X's are body colour, on average, hatches were bare gal, sedans painted body colour. Not every car was like this, but the majority.
I believe the colour of the springs was called "BUFF", but all my books and notes are packed away, but it rings a bell.

REDA9X, I assume the hinges on the A9X also followed the springs, ie either painted or gal to match the springs?

Thanks again Wayne for all the assistance with the A/C. It's been greatly appreciated :spoton: Do you happen to know if all the LH's had the same colour bonnet hinge springs? That creamy mustard colour???

Cheers

I've check it out, it appears LH's only had the mustard colour bonnet springs until late '74, (10 or 11th month) then it had the Fergie Grey coloured springs same as the early LX's... I'm happy for someone to corect me, however I got this from a very reliable source...

Cheers

Right o, so Fergie Grey coloured springs for 10/75? Is that the actual GMH name? Is there a paint code for it?

Ive found what may be the code for the grey....393-10367.

This apparently the grey used on early holden grey motors.

So not sure if its correct or not???? Anyone got a pic of an original grey spring?

Just to dredge up an old post Brad.. But I thought I'd add something out of interest.
My car is a 10/74. Anyway I was looking at a one owner unmolested that was within 30 cars of mine on the production line.. So also an Oct 74 car. Anyway, it has the fergie grey colour bonnet springs.
