Hey guys im not to sure if anyone will know this
But are the Ls1 to Ls3 the same external size and are the mounting points the same??

The mounting points are the same... (the aftermarket billet type mounts here are the same for the Gen III/IV family) externally aside from how far up the intake manifold may stick and exhaust port shapes and water pump differences I can't think of any external difference either.

The point im trying to get at is say i drop an LS1 in my car now.
Fit it all up get it all going and if i want a bit more poke in a years time will i be able to drop an
LS3 without having to get new mounts and move the gearbox and alter the tailshaft lenght ???
