Hey everyone...... is there a difference with rear brake shose if u have front drums or disks? And what's the difference in sizes with the wheel cylinders between drums all round and disk front drum rear?

Depends on the car
On an LC+J yes they are different

Nope
Proportioning valve fitted to that car
So all 4 6 8 and drum or disc front all used the same cylinders (3/4")

L34 was the only one to use the 7/8 wheel cylinders due to them using the HQ 10" drum system

Everything else has been changed and tested.... and the rears are still locking ...... any idears?

Was having a chat with a few blokes at a swap meet this morning and they were saying put hk wheel cylinders in the back to suit disk brake front end.......

You would then need to change your shoes too... as the HK cylinder is the same as the LC-J one and runs flat button pistons
Whereas the LH-UC runs cylinders that use pushrods coming out of the pistons that sit on the shoe differently

Lh and lc with drum front end have the same drum shoses for the back, pn: 1174, and wheel cylinder pn: p10160g....... lc with disk front end has a different set of shose pn 1132 and a wheel cylinder pn p5573g...... will that last wheel cylinder from the lc front disk fit the lh shoses?

Looks like ill be going with a hidden adjustable valve in the rear brake line than.

Found this old thread, but it doesnt answer my question....

 

Repacing rear wheel cylinders in LC GTR....two different places assure me the Bosch ones in the pics are the correct ones...however they are 4mm shorter....any advice.....Datto?

just read that...sorry for the confusion...they both compress to be appx 74mm....but the metal body on the new one is longer?..is that an issue?

Thanks mate....just wanted to be right...now all thats left is to get the replacement  chassis -to - axle hose, as its blocked. ( apparently not uncommon).
