Can anyone confirm with pics the proper seatbelts (buckles ect) that they came out with?I'm aware the 74 was the last non retractable but still like to know the buckles and the 75 retractable and buckles? Hanra u seem to be doing the right gear so I'm especially asking you
Cheers

Sorry to revive an old thread. I have sourced some LH SL/SLR non retractable (Rainsford "A") front seat belts as pictured below. My question is the plastic sleeve my hand is holding to is this standard and what is the point? My belts are old and haven't been restored and both front belts have it so it must be factory.... Any ideas?

Hey mate, I've got a set of original LH SL seatbelts with plastic sleeve, mine acts as a cover for the upper bolt and also seat belt pillar hook, cheers

I was just re-reading the ADRs...
ADR4A was introduced 1 JAN 1974 and while it covers retractable type belts, it doesn't specify that the car must have them.
ADR4B was introduced 1 JAN 1975 and actually does specify that both front outboard seating positions must have retractable belts fitted:
4B.2.2 ~ Except in the case of a four wheel drive vehicle, a lap-sash belt or harness belt shall:
(i) when fitted to the driver's seating position, incorporate an emergency locking retractor, and
(ii) when fitted to the other front outboard seating position, incorporate an emergency locking retractor or an automatic length adjusting and locking retractor.
EDIT: I forgot to add: ADR4C was introduced 1 JAN 1976 & ADR4D on 1 JAN 1984 (but I didn't bother reading them since the above answers your question.

I think ADR4C was mandatory 1 Jan 76, but quite a few vehicles that I've seen had it introduced prior.
My 10/75 has 4C and so have quite a few other 75 models LH's. I notice a lot of 74 model cars with 4A but was that a definitive point in determining if the body had lap dash or retractable belts fitted? It was it determined by lux level or trim colour?
Perhaps 1st Jan 75 Holden decided to be proactive and went straight for 4C?

ADR4C didn't come into effect until 1 JAN 1976 according to the document itself, that means i wasn't lawful until that date, or more accurately, it means that ADR4B was still mandatory as it hadn't yet been superseded.
But, there may well have been some tolerance to allow the assembly lines to catch up, I would expect that cars were complying with ADR4C perhaps months before it was mandatory?
Obviously any car that complies with 4C should also satisfy the older 4B, but I very much doubt GMH would've been a whole year ahead of the regs?
