I think for that amount of power, those red heads have had some major surgery. Good power from a red motor at reasonable revs too!

Struggler should put up a clip of that angry sounding mofo' driving.

Those big cammed early headed 308's are what got me addicted to the beloved holden v8

And part of the reason my next build will be exactly that :-)

Partly why want to eventually go back to manual v8's.

Mate had a brock with usual toploader & 9" with engine being 288 cam, ported red heads with torker added with 12:1 cr we didn't care how fast it was just sounded so good!

Sounds like my VP Berlina.  It is a 5 spd 355  with 520hp and sounds tuff as.  Wouldn't be as quick down the strip as the SLR was but turns heads everywhere I take it. Last time I took it out I went to the fuel station to fuel up and a tuff as XW rolled up sounding cranky as. Then I started the VP to leave and everyone looked and pretty much said what the hell is in that. Love the sleeper look LOL...

Loving the sound of my 355 with early port layout. Albeit Yella Terra dash 3's. The sound was also why I went for a manual car. It can raise the hair on the back of your neck, especially on downshifts when you are on it.

Not quite this good, but mine's a road car. (Turn sound up full for max enjoyment :-)

Here are my spec's(I know, not a 308)

355 crank, 11:1 compression, Crane CCH-314 cam (hydraulic flat tappet, 246 duration @ 50"), YT Dash-3 heads, un-ported(sadly), 4 into 1 ceramic coated extractors, 2 1/2" ceramic exhaust, x-pipe, stainless mufflers, 2 1/4" over the diff, ICE 2 step ignition, Hollley 750 DP ultra carby, TPower DP inlet manifold, 1" spacer. Dyno'd 460+ HP at 5900/6000 RPM. 3:08 Diff ratio, 5 speed TREMEC TKO. Can't hold full throttle in first due to traction..... have to be careful in second, can spin up tyres depending on road surface. Very drive-able but oh so much fun.

Great HP figures using a hydraulic cam.  Well done.
