When I started this project back in May, Id never paid any attention at all really to Torana's... however I was surprised to find out that the few bits of glass that I had been given with the car was in fact green LX/UC type and incorrect for an LH.... Thanks to this forum for pointing that out.

I just wanted to make a post showing the difference between LH Clear, and LX/UC Green for future reference for other new comers.

The glass on the left is factory tinted glass and written at the bottom is Antisun. The glass on the right will not have it written on it.
Not all LXs or UCs have tinted (antisun) glass only ones that had it optioned from the factory. Its not as easy to find as the non tinted glass.
Im not sure if LHs had optional tinted glass.
There are also date codes in the glass (dots where the writing is) but i dont know how to decode it.

I'm led to believe the factory tinted glass was an option on the LH as well .

I know I had the factory green tinted glass on my original LH GPAK Torana.

To further confuse things, I was once told the green tinted glass was referred to as 'comfort glass' or something like that and used in models with factory A/C.

Cheers, TB

The plot thickens!

I started cleaning up to front door window glasses today and found the driver's door glass is tinted but the passengers isn't.

The passenger door has been replaced somewhere along the line as it had wreckers marking on the hinge pillar.

I have also had to build up the top, front, edge to suit the profile in that area.

My car is 4/72 LJ

I haven't started on the 1/4 vent or rear glasses yet.....................stay tuned.
