So are these bushes you purchased recently, or have they been sitting in the shed for a few years?

Purchased recently.

Full credit to the manufacturer, they are working to resolve the issue.

Heh I had the exact same thing happen to mine, Sent it to the suspension shop to have the wheel alignment done and they called me back and told me about it.

Mine were Noltec tho, and had been on the car for about 3-4 years... but the car was never driven in that time...

Hope no one has this type of material for the flexible steering link on the lc lj torana,s, I've never been keen on this type of product to hard for the street. Rubber seems to be a lot more compliant. I've always gone with the principle if you are going to circuit race and don't mind changing your bushes once a year go the harder material. I've had the harder material let go on me as well. Couldn't believe my eyes. The rubber ones I pulled out were 20yrs plus perished a bit but not going to let me down.

I had a nolathane flexible coupling on the steering be advice from others caused me change to a rag coupling...

Is it something to do with the cars not being used? Seems most the stories are from cars that have been sitting for years...

I' ve had nolathane (red) on the car for 15 years, no issues. I only recently changed the steering coupling and upper control arm ones with new ones,
No issues so far.

Who knows, are they using different mixtures, processes now than they where?

@ Statler, hopefully Nolathane come to the party. A rep from Nolathane told me that with a reciept of sale they would cover faulty bushes. Whenever we fit Any brand of poly bushes we naturally give parts and labour warranty.

Just a quick tip for anyone fitting poly bushes which are not attatched to metal , take the bush stick it in a vise and squeeze the hell out of it . If you have faulty bushes they will show signs of cracking or splitting and save you having to fit them and find out later.

super pro bushes have a good name so far,

as for that red crap, fitted top bushes to our group 3 commy ,within 6 months it looked like the shocker was pushing through and going to end up through bonnet.

the factory bushes are the best, when you carn,t buy them try super pro.

There seems to be 2 part #s for the lca bushes. I'm guessing material hardness is the difference.

The company in question is happy to replace the failed items, but now i'm considering other alternatives.

It wouldn't be an issue if it was a 5min job to replace them.

The most annoying thing to me, is that i've had the suspension media blasted & 2K primed, then fitted the bushes, then had the components top coated. I've assembled it all very carefully to avoid paint chips. I just know it's going to end up chipped when i disassemble/reassemble it. :(

So are these bushes you purchased recently, or have they been sitting in the shed for a few years?

I have a complete 'Nolathane' boxed kit NEW for my LX , Bought it 3 -4 years ago , just part of my massive collection of parts , ready for when my time frees up and I can start the rebuild on my car . Now, I'm so sure whether to use the 'Nolathane' parts or not ???? I'm thinking not .

The next set of bushes I get for a Torana will be made on mums lathe by me and one of my brothers. They won't fail, but they won't give a very comfortable ride either.
