S Pack did a thread on this not long back, you have to make a special tool to push the clips up with ,unless your double jointed , or have arms like a Gorilla ??

What the secret to fitting these things??.
I've got new clips and the moulds just won't stay in place. The back of the packed says you can use rivets however there is no provision in the door to do this nor can you get a drill in the position to do so. HELP!

Bomber, I got the clips of guy on ebay who reproduces them they were about $ for 8 which I though was a bit steep but I couldn't find them anywhere. I assume by Betta ones you mean better auto rubbers?. I wonder how much different they are to the rare spares ones.

2ELCS I'll have a look for that thread but I don't know if a tool is going to help, Thhe rare spares ones have a bump at the top which seems to open the clip up and the weather strip clips fall off after they've been put on all the way.

I'm really starting to get Fed up with Rare Spares lack of quality. I paid nearly $1000 for a rubber kit and so far the boot rubber diddn't fit so they sent another one, the Rh 1/4 glass rubber diddn't meet the outr door steel I've waited 12 months for a replacement, I got one before christmas and it's the Left hand side (angry!) And today I got to fit the weather strips not only are they shorter than they need to be but they don't stay in place!!!.

Ryan
We were not planning on remaking them as we are still using the original mold from 1990 but if they are wrong them yes we will remake them , I will have them checked out.
Les.

Dave
We are using 7437728 on inner door belts maybe we have the numbers wrong , we are trying to find 8815997 which we believe is for the outer. We have just purchased an LC for testing of parts I will get them checked out next week.

Hi Les

AFAIK clip 8815997 is for the inner belt strips, 2dr & 4dr. A mistake in the parts catalogues means it lists that clip for 4dr rear doors only when it should show as being for 2dr and 4dr front & rear. 5 clips per door.

Its not the first time the parts books have been wrong I will check them out next week.
