Cheers for the comment.

Dads making 286rwkw. All tuned by Oztrack, Cam by camtech (installed himself) and Higgins Heads. PB is 11.7 but hoping to beat that with the cooler weather.

We are thinking of running State of Origin night (23rd May). Thinking there wont be a crowd, and with the cold nights Sydney has gotten lately, it should make for some good times!

Booked in for a mafless tune on thursday and still hoping to race on the 23rd. With the night temps Sydney has been getting (around 8 degrees) I should be able to improve well on the 14.5 it previously run, considering the track temp was 39 degrees on a hot sunday arvo.
Dad also hasnt run on a cold night since the new heads and re tune so he is hoping to dip further into the 11s with a cold night. He also run on the hot Sunday and was doing consistent 11.9s with a sneaky 11.8.

Mafless tune by Oztrack is complete. Im absolutely stoked! Pulls so hard through the gears, the kick back into first gear at around 60km/h fries the tyres and its hard to believe all was done was a tune.

OTR and throttle body were also installed, now I cant wait to race it! Steve said I should be aiming for around the 13.6 mark which would be incredible to knock almost a second off the 1/4.

good news alround then mitch just remember to flick the traction control off once on the strip so you dont have the your foot getting betted back by the tracton control, hope you get the 13.6 or lower :D:D:D oh and turn the speed alert off, to many bells and whistles in these new car lol

Well had a good night. Only managed 3 runs beforing calling it quits, but got a PB pf 13.6@103mph.
Absolutely stoked with the improvement. Shaved almost a second off the ET and gained about 8-10mph as well!!

60 ft times suck being 2.1 but nothing a set of 3.9s cant fix!

Place was packed. An hour between each run, got sick of waiting so just changed the tyres and went home.

Dad also run a PB of 11.5@119 mph.

Full licence means more points to lose :P

Funnily enough, only been pulled into 1 RBT and they didnt search over the car. In the torana they would go out of their way to pull me in, even if the RBT was full and it was always the same, bonnet open, check tyres, read engineer report etc etc.

The fact its not a cop magnet appeals to me. Even though its a commodore, its at legal ride height and well presented which is more then i can say for most commodores on the roads these days.

The way I look at it it's not the car that draws the attention it's the person sitting behind the steering wheel and how they drive it. I pull cars over all the time to have a look even when they are wheel tubbed and have a blower sticking through the bonnet without getting my defect book out. Different story when I stop a stock standard commodore after checking it's speed at 140kmh on the highway. Maybe no defect but definitely a ticket for the speed. That will get my attention more than a blown and injected wheel tubbed torana any day. If your car drove through an RBT that I was working I wouldn't even flinch at it Mitch. Don't get me wrong though it is your pride and joy and is a very nice car and I hope you enjoy it for years to come and look forward to following the upgrades that you do to it.

You guys pick on the poor little P-platers, thats all it is :P

Fair call Ruts, I get what your saying. In my opinion, since I overtook you on the freeway because you were going too slow (its a joke, calm down :P), to now, I honestly dont bother with the speed thing. I guess I'm more patient and just dont care. Not saying I dont give it the odd hit late night in the industrial area but who hasnt. Got to learn the car somehow.

Cheers for the comments, it will be enjoyed and modified for a few years, but the big plan is the driveline to power my next project once the funds are there to begin it many years down the track. Cant be a bogan my whole life :P

Does this mean the running gear may end up in a torana one day?.

nice score Mitch, My nephew has one the same which you may have seen at the last gmh drag day , with high temps that day he still managed to run a 13.4 with a mafless tune and a 6 speed manual, so im sure you will easily get into the 12's and further with the mods you intend to do

Getting a bit sick of the grey interior. Its just such a 'meh' colour on a shiny exterior so Iv decided to go black. It will happen slowly, and piece by piece due to funds not being spent on the car at the moment, but I picked up a set of VX Calais door trims with the 'suede' and courtesy lights so a bit of a nice upgrade.
Went to spotlight and picked up some red 'suede' and got to covering to give it a bit of custom touch as I like the little attention to detail pieces.

After

Will install tomorrow and hopefully convince Dad to drop into his school so I can pick up a black dash and glovebox and fusebox lid and get them on too (also with 'suede' touches).
