Gave it a good run at the drags yesterday. Ended up doing 33 runs and she didnt miss a beat! The old slicks are looking worse for wear with the camber this has lol.

New PB of 13.4@107mph though! Picked up 4mph from last time which im stoked with as I havent changed a thing. Set of diff gears in the ass and should be pushing 12s!

You should see it when im driving along at 40ish and put the boot in. Jumps straight to 1st and the exhaust tips almost touch the ground. Looks like its faster than it is haha

Nah not at all. Torana was a good car but its apples and oranges. As a daily, this is perfect with all its features and comforts. With no funds to keep repairing the torana as got so much else going on, the SS is great. And faster, faster is always better lol.

Yeah its reallythe best mod to start with. I highly recommend an otr while your doing it too. The standard intake just suffocates the engines.

How much of a pain was it to fit the Extractors? I'm looking at doing mine myself but heard its a nasty job (You gotta pull a lot of things off).

I shuddered when i was looking at doing it. But when i got into it, it was simple. Only thing i removed was the bolt in the steering knuckle and moved it out of the way. Once installed, just slid it back on, pushed the clip in and put the bolt back in. Too easy. I installed tri ys, unsure if 4-1s are any different.

Gearbox is now due for a rebuild. Started up the last night and first gear had major grinding. Changed to second and it was fine. No gonna drive it cause i dont want the shit that screwed going through the rest of the box.

Anyone wanna buy a torailer?

The problem is if i want to go fast, it has to be done. It was on the to do list early 2013.... Just mot this early. Also means my cam can go in earlier..... Loss-win-win IMO.

Bring on 11s!!! Lol

Car is in having a gearbox built with all the good bits. Will handle everything I can throw at it N/A wise, with a nice 4000rpm slingshot converter.

Car is back and feels amazing. 4000 stall and 3.9s is a perfect combo!

Valve springs, billet fuel rails, gloss manifold and surprise engine covers coming soon!

Nice SS.I had a 2000 VX SS for about 6 years, nice tourer...had no probs with is at all.
Trades on a 6 ltr VE Calais V....similar but smoother.

Re the chat about Sams performnce... my son had his 5.7 SS ute tweaked there, cam, heads, etc etc etc....went 1005 from day 1. Never had a single issue, no leaks, no issues. Would rate them , from what I saw.

Regards
