i am planning a borgwarner diff conversion for my lc, i want it standard length and with original brakes soo i can still run 13 inch wheels and i have a couple of questions

- is there any problems with what i have planned
- what is a good ratio to run with 13's the car is gonna be a weekend fun car with the occasional drag and burnouts, i was thinking 3.7 but it might be too low with the 13's on ??
- can a whiteline sway bar be modified to fit with the borgwarner diff
- Can anyone reccomend a shop to do the conversion and rebuild in adelaide other than rodtech ??

cheers anton

I run 3.55 with the 13's.
I personally wouldn't go any lower if you ever intend on driving in a 100 zone. Your motor spec's will also have a fair say in what ratio suits you better tho.

Well I had the exact same conversion on my LC except I ended up keeping the commodore discs/pattern so the 13" option may become a little more difficult. I don't think the swaybar should be a problem, especially if it's a weld in type.
Why not Rodtech? Perfect job, quick service and did it all for $670. Boss diffs quoted me $1500-2000 for the exact same job?
I'm running 225/45/16 tyres that come to the same rolling diameter (or very close to) the stock 13" wheels. I run 3.08 ratio and it's my daily, I have a T700 so with overdrive it sits at about 1800RPM at 100KM/H hence upgarading to 3.89:1 soon, without overdrive I would say go for the 3.45:1, all of the gear sizes are very easily attainable from commodores/falcons/skylines.
Good luck.

I also had mine done by rod-tech. No dramas.

Can anyone provide anymore info on why the 13's will be more difficult?

I want to run a borg warner diff with discs and 13's but want to know if and how you can make the discs fit
