I've had the LJ for 11 years this week, which means I've been here for 11 years. Fark.

9 years but only 1 year of driving! Usual 1 year project that ends up taking way too long.

I bought a 4 door LC S from my neighbour back around 1995. I shouldn’t have bought it as it was overpriced at $1600 and full of rust bog and fibre glass but, it was a Torana. Fast forward to 1999 and some old guy in a Sigma managed to rearrange the front end and it got written off. Luckily I saved a few things from the wreck but looking back, nowhere near enough lol.
From that, I found my current 2 door LC S that had more hits than the top 40 and just as much rust for the princely sum of $450. As I was a panel beater I managed to fix it up while using it as my daily over the next few years until about 2002 when I took it off the road to be painted. And there it sat all painted waiting to be put back together up until about 2017 when I started to reassemble it. Now it is almost finished with just a couple of minor things to do, I am finally able to drive it again, winning.

TLDR: I got my current LC 20 years ago but have only driven it for about 3 years.

Unless you have a host that allows hotlinking

You will need to attach the pics by uploading them to the post

There should be an option at the bottom of the reply screen (not sure on phones)

Or send them to me Ken and I'll add them up

My first car was a 74 LJ sedan which i bought at 15, I purchased my 72 XU1 in 1997 for 6K.

I thought I paid a bit much for it back then, but found out it is a 9/72 SVO not long ago original colour Royal Purple.

A lot of the information was obtained from the huge wealth of knowledge available from the members here.

Cheers Steve

SS Hatchback for the last 12 years, For 4 years before that was the LC GTR then before that 18 months for the LJ 4 door then go back into the 1980's a bronzie coloured 4 door LX which was either a Monday or Friday car ( ie lemon)for about 1 year then a bit before that was an LH 4 door silver, 202/4spfor about 2 years and one I should not have sold

The LH had 350 Holley with extractors and as said a 4sp and the suspension was Monroe Wileys GT130's all round, heavy duty springs and front an back "touring" sway bays. Bloody hell that car could handle and well reasonably well for a 202

RegardSS ..... Barry
