taking the mystery A9X from NEWCASTLE area out for her 2nd hit out firstly to see how quik she can go and secondly to watch the competitive spirit that woman seem to have with your EX!!!

I bought this car 3-4 years back,,advertised on carsales for one day b4 i saw it ,as a slr5000/a9x optioned torana long story short it turned out to be a genuine A9X OWNED BY COLIN CRUMP FROM NEWCASTLE AREA , pinched in 1984 and never seen again until i traced it origin and thats where it stops without the help from the previous owner .
The car has been changed quite a bit over the years and now has a 308 running edelbrock performer not sure of specs but a healthy hyd cam 10-1 comp elect dizzy crane rollers inch spacer and a out of the box 750hp holley heads are red heads with a light cleanup L34 valves etc has turbo 700 2800 stall and 3.5 gears my EX ran a 13.4 @ 108 mph ,never raced a car before etc ,i ran a 13.2 @109 mph . We raced it as we bought didnt change plugs ,tyres or drop the pipes etc . My partner who is victorian born and the daughter of a very famous EX AFL Star who cant even put air in the tyres or drive a manual (lucky this is auto for the time being ) is determined to race it and beat the Ex,s 13.41 on her first go at racing and her first go at driving another car other than a volvo s40 2000 model auto .
As this wil be the cars last time out before i start pulling it apart for restoration she will only get one night to beat it .
Im thinking ....
-new plugs
-drop the pipes
-timing
- and possibly slicks as i have a pair sitting there ....any other suggestions without going to epic

Get it ready by the 25th August and come out to Pistons v Rotors at Willowbank (see QLD events section). What could be motivating than flogging the pants of a chook cooker?

If its basically the same car that ran those times before on street tyres then a pair of slicks should make easy work of beating the time as long as everything's in good order
