Al, did this car have ACT plates, or a different state, as I just saw these plates for sale, guy has had them for 25 years.

So would the guy who owns these plates be the guy who owned the car when you saw it down in your hometown in 1990. He has had these plates for over 25 years, so that would be from before 1988.

XU200 when Red at the 1991 Summernats in Canberra, you can see the roof ariel if you look hard at the pic.

Al, does this car have VIC or NSW plates, perhaps this is the Preston VIC car I posted & the one you saw, although they do appear to have slightly different door mirrors.

The pic from the Summernats has a Roll Cage in it, I think the Mirrors are same as the Red LJ from Preston Victoria and that car has a Roll Cage as well

I think you could be right, both have orange indicators, roll cage in same places, white rego disc in same place LHF lower windscreen & very similar ride height.

Cool ask him did he ever take the Red XU1 V8 to Tassy in Late 1988 or 1989 or early 1990's, he filled up with Petrol in my Home Town at the BP Garage

so its the Red LJ XU-1 from Victoria I seen, it had a awesome sounding 308 V8 in the car that was here, many years ago

YEK950 on Bill Graham's LJ XU1, is a 1972 ACT Number Plate, so it would be a 1972 LJ, well the number plate is from 1972, without a doubt

Do any ACT/Canberra forum members know of the guy in the attached article from Australian Hot Rodding Review 1974, Bill Graham of Fisher. I would like to get in contact with him if he is still around. Any help appreciated.Cheers Pete.

Was told today Bill Graham worked for Leighton Holdings in Canberra, they were a big civil construction company doing work in Canberra, So some one might remember Bill working there ????

They still are a big civil construction company, I used to work for John Holland Group who are owned by Leightons. The construction industry is very volatile as projects increase and decrease people move in and out of companies all the time. If I was still working for JHG I could check the Leighton database and even send an email, damn, sorry I can't help.
