Totally, he comes here and advertises a V8 XU-1 for $40k, it sells a few days later to a non-forum member, nobody here can get in touch with him, had any reply to their emails and no pics.

Suss?

You betcha.

Who says the new owner isn't a Forum member? I know I didn't!

Lots of assumptions going on.

The new owner will reveal all when he is ready.

Do any ACT/Canberra forum members know of the guy in the attached article from Australian Hot Rodding Review 1974, Bill Graham of Fisher. I would like to get in contact with him if he is still around. Any help appreciated.

Cheers Pete.

Have you heard from him Pete
Seems know one has had a Email from Bill

Which part of the following don't you understand?

The new owner is pretty pissed off (to put it mildly) with all the bullshit that erupted in this thread.

Subsequently he has requested Bill not post up any pics or talk to anyone about the car.

Why ???????
Pete was asking about his Car, if Bill knew about Pete's XU1, Not about Bill's XU1
So why would the New owner be Pissed about it.
Is it the Real Bill that is the Question
I have the Chassis Number and Engine number to the Real Deal Bill Graham's XU1 in that Magazine.

Alas, I'm only the messenger. :)

Personally, and I can't speak for Bill, however, I wouldn't blame Bill if he never replies to any of those info requests after the attack on his integrity.

If I was Bill I'd tell you all where to go and what you should do when you get there.

There were no attacks on Bill Graham. There was a suspicion that the impostor was not Bill Graham.

Your claim is total BS. The reason suspicion arose was because he didn't reply to the emails and not immediately after but considerably after. It sounds like you are sticking up for the impostor.

I'm pretty sure nobody here has an issue with the real Bill Graham.

I feel that what's being forgotten here is that Bill doesn't have to reply to anybody. He has no obligation to do anything about any email he may have received. The cars sold, so why should he?
Probably got more important things to do in his life.

^^^ Spot on. And with questions of integrity raised during this pointless aftermath, think about how this reflects on our forum.

^^ this.

Then all of a sudden the car was sold to a forum member by a phone call - with a number that was never published/made public and after Bill said he would except expressions of interest to his email - for a car that he was asking half of what it was worth. sounds like BS barry....

The Bill that got on here said send him Emails and he will answer them, But Alas has not after weeks and weeks later.

As the Bill said it is rego, so rego in Qld now, So a FOI check at Qld RTA from its Chassis number and V8 Engine number (That is Known), will see if the XU1 did go to Qld.

Pete XU1 and me were not seeking info on his car any way, we were seeking other info from Bill.

Its none of our business where this car is, or who owns it. Obviously Bill doesn't give a frOck about the emails he received. Get over it.
Might not even be registered yet.
So what if if did go to Qld? What does it matter?

Dont care where the Car is

Bill said it had rego, cant have Canberra rego as that ran out in 2010, So if it does not show up under Qld RTA then it never went to Qld.

Hi to all who posted comments on the Canberra XU1 308 forum.

My name is Bill Graham and I am the owner (current since new) of this vehicle.  I became aware of this forum only recently and am now replying.

The vehicle has undergone a number of changes since the article in the Hot Rod Magazine.

Since moving from Canberra to Malanda (1 hour west of Cairns) the vehicle has only travelled about 1000 kms in 10 years.  The vehicle has LPG installed.

I have owned this vehicle for 44 years

The vehicle is legally registered and insured for $40,000.  If any of your members is interested in purchasing this vehicle then an offer around $40,000 would be considered.  I can be contacted on my email address ([email protected]).

Bill Graham

Seems like it has Qld rego now :)
