Every morning I find the mirrors on the Calais covered in spider webs

Anyone have some advice on getting the spiders removed?
Thanks in advance

Thanks Neil lol

Feel like doing that every morning,

I've successfully sprayed behind the mirror in the LX in the past, but I'm worried about the motors in the Calais mirrors

It's a big bugger too, he popped out while I was washing the car then went inside the mirror before I could squash him

Air gun didn't work

I'm worried using the hose with the motors in the mirrors

Adjust mirror so there is a decent gap (if possible) and spray bug spray in there, clean up any drips/overspray.

Wouldn't think there would be any issue with the motors, they should be sealed to the weather.

Go to bunnings & buy a can of black flag blow fly spray. its good stuff. All those other morteins, peebo etc are only most effective when u actually throw the can at the offending insect! Black flag works quick with the smallest amount to remove the vermin from where they shouldnt be ie... my shed, house, mirrors & wheel arches of my vehicles.

Reasonably neat detergent should work a treat but use car wash to save your paint etc.

Insect’s breathe through their skin so a good coat of detergent has them in trouble and they (spiders) soon come running out. Mix it up in a spray bottle and soak the area behind the mirror.

Now you throw the bug spray can at them.

Discovered this at a friend’s place where we cleared out heaps of black house spider from where his young daughter was expecting to play (cubby house) as the weather got warmer. He didn’t want to spray the area with poison.

this is whats worked for me...grab a can of Mortein "fast knock down" and a torch..sneak out there to your vehicle at about 9.30 to 10.00 pm at night(when its not raining) and ta da..there will be the little blighter on his or her web and hit them with the spray..the best chance seems to be at night when the car has been stationary for some time

course...this wont stop them entirely from coming back..his mate will eventually move in but you will have the chance(an reward) of actually seeing the little begga!

and thats the best part :D

coax him out with a fly then place it where it will do the most good to the enviroment.....
or just spray surface spray all over the mirror...

Leave the poor little bugger alone.

You time would be better spent killing all your neighbours cats. :)

If you have a label maker you could print out a sticker that says "No Spiders Allowed". That way no educated spiders will have too die.

Spiders in the mirror appear larger than they are.

To coax them out, sit next to the mirror on a tuffet eating curds and whey.
