Hey guys just wondering who made your headers for a sbc into LH-LX, there are no decent headers off the shelf unless I want to make my 434 blow through a straw!!!!!
I was chasing a set of 4 into 1's with 1 3/4" primaries or bigger, or a big set of tri y's.
Is there anyone decent in Ballarat or Melbourne to make them up?
cheers Kris

there's no off the shelf pipes that are going to be any good...you will need a set of custom made pipes to suit your needs especially with a engine like that

Thanks for the plug Neil :P

The primaries on that set might be a bit small for Kris.
My LX goes in for a custom set in 2 weeks. Its a pain in the a$$ with a chev.
The only way of getting something that will fit properly is to have a set made for your application.
And that costs a premium

If you go searching you will find some good threads on SBC/LH/X/UC exhaust headers.

FWIW I went 11.0 at 124 MPH with modified Hurricanes so they aren't really that bad. At that level I estimate they cost me about 20-30 HP over HQ 1 3/4" 4:1 pipes.

I agree 434LX when I heard the quote to for the custom headers it hurt, but when dealing with a 434 with a decent amount power there wasn't to many other options.

mmm shaffirof *drools*

I've been keeping my eyes out on ebay and such with not a great deal of luck. 1 or 2 sets every couple of months.

Question - can you get a decent size set of "normal" pipes (not fenderwalls / "up and overs") into a LH - LX with straight plug heads?
