Hi i was thinking about running some stocko HQ rims and hubcaps on the street to help keep it more legal and use the set of welds (15x8's and 15x4's) i currently have for the drags/powercruise etc i have HQ stud pattern front and rear the only problem i have is the rear studs are 1/2 inch which wont allow the standard HQ rims to bolt on without drilling out the holes i can get 1/2 tapered wheel nuts but im thinking the taper on the wheel stud holes will be affected if i drill them out does anyone know what i can do about this
cheers in advance

I cant see you having any trouble with the 1/2" Wheel Studs.
My Hatch has 1/2" studs because of the brake upgrade and runs Pontiac Rally II's (15") and they fitted with no trouble or changing holes and off the shelf wheel nuts. I can also still fit the smaller Holden GTS wheels to the rear that i was running with no trouble and the same nuts.

I also have 1/2" wheel studs and stock HQ rims fit over them fine. If you need to enlarge the hole any it can't be much.
Tapered wheel nuts are all the same. If you hack some of the hole away there is still plenty of meat for the taper to seat on.

Cheers for the replies I only ask as I had to drill the drum holes out to fit and thought the rim holes would have the same issue

Tapered wheel nuts are not all the same.
Early Holden are different, and the wrong nuts can result in wheels falling off.
This should not be a problem for you.

you are restricted by your narrow wheels , the best fit would be something like a 205 60 14 but even that is getting wide for a 5 inch rim.
