Lights & Grill to fit. Bumper mounts will take a bit of work as the UC & LX mounts are different.

Once again I must pay homage to Dirtbag and his UC/LX conversion many years ago. His build and thread was most helpful as he step by step explained and showed how one method could be done. My car will be nowhere near the finish of Dirtbags but I'm happy with it all the same.
I found the front guards the biggest challenge, I chose Dirtbags method amongst 3 I have seen mainly because the UC panels I had were in such good condition. The front flares and spoiler needed some reshaping but easily achievable.
Bonnet straight off a donor car with no adjustments.
Nosecone had a couple of minor adjustments easily done in the shed.
Original radiator support panel required adjustments on the ends down low to accommodate the nosecone and guards, once again easily achievable.
All of the above took time but nowhere near the span of years I've taken. Someone with a few months of time they can dedicate can achieve the conversion.

Yep can't complain. First time in about 5 years all the front end panels have been bolted together. How's your project?

Mine got put aside for a while due to assorted life complications :<_<: but coincidentally I've just started tinkering with it again so I might have some more pics to put up soon... You've definitely made more progress than me!

Finally loaded ready for the paint shop. Bit of a birthday touch up for the Torana as its 40 years old this month.

Body work and paint for the rear tail light area & black outs to be painted at the front and a general tidy up all over.

Hasn't seen sunlight for a couple of years & project work long overdue.

I do prefer the blackouts where they are; not that I had a choice as the blackouts around the windows and top of the doors were already done before the conversion. The painter lined the guard and nosecone blackouts with the original black on the top of the doors. He also matched the original gloss black.

Put the front end back together yesterday and hooked all the lights up. Nearing the end of the road a few more things to do then a service, tune up and new tires. I know this build was no where as difficult as some however goes to show converting a UC is possible with out too much grief if you have a good base to start with.

Thanks... when I first purchased the car I wasn't sure about the colour but it has grown on me particularly now the conversion is done.

Finally finished a few final jobs on the Torana. New piece of timber, hinged and installed tie down points for spare tire and jack. Also dyna-matted the rear hatch area and finished with new carpet. Adjusted new headlights and fitted new tires; 265/50/15 rear and 225/50/15 on the front. Brakes bled, engine serviced and new radiator hoses just needs diff and gearbox fluids changed then rego hopefully later this week. Car starts and runs ok will need a slight tune up but almost ready to roll!!
