Hi Al

I believe that this is the correct style for Brisbane LCs.

Someone will confirm.

Cheers

I thought those were lj buckles. It's a bit hard to know for sure the correct ones as usually on the assembly plant they used whatever they had at the time which can mean they varied from state to state or even month s apart...just sayin' who knows for sure unless you find a couple of cars close to your chassis number & assembly plant where car was built.

Mine is a 2 tag 69 adelaide gtr iirc which has older style lion & belt buckle as well as wooden rim steering wheel.

Hi

For what it is worth - there were 3 seatbelt suppliers for the LC range. Britax, Cooldrive and Rainsford. Adelaide appeared to predominantly use Rainsford, Brisbane predominantly Cooldrive. I don't believe that there is a definitive answer as to which factories used Britax extensively (perhaps Sydney, Melbourne or Perth?) or perhaps that brand supplemented at all factories as needed. Some early LC publicity photos show Britax in use.

The picture that I posted earlier appears to be a Britax belt. I got it from a forum member years ago - at the time I was told that it was fitted to a Brisbane car. I do know that Cooldrive was the normal Brisbane fitment.

Cheers

My Adelaide bulit 1970 LC XU-1 had the Britax type belt buckle fitted from new.
Whether Adelaide had run out of stock and got some stock in from Brisbane who knows ?

I see you managed to edit your post subsequent to my question of where it was manufactured!! Maybe 1970 in Brisbane was Britax predominantly, 1971 was Cooldrive. I've only ever seen Cooldrive in 1971 Brisbane cars. For hqgts, looks like you can use either Britax or Cooldrive, and will be correct.
