The whiteline products I have seen before do seem alot better than the red stuff
I sell abit of Superpro at work... only been there 2 mths so no idea about failure rates and warranties

Howdy Y-all, i thought this "Alert" be best place here, for those who may want to check theirs.

My recent purchase of LJ complete front bush kit from Restocountry has an issue that i am in email with them about, awaiting response on way forward to a resolution.

As attached images, the LCA pivot bushes my wheel aligner alerted me to yesterday afternoon,
The Left side bush outer has slipped forward on the rubber.

The bushes have travelled less than 20Klm...

His suggestion is to fit Superpro, or Pedders bushes in there.

Holy sh*t Batman! If those are Mackay Autorubber bushes then I would be bitterly disappointed.

 

I had a Holden branded bush do similar to that on the RH LCA but it was the bush rubber separated from the  inner tube.

Admittedly the bush was probably 25 years old.

I cannot confirm at this point in time that what is supplied in the kit is actually Mackay brand.

Both sides are beyond buggered. The rubber looks like it might be too soft as there is a lot of deformation? Perhaps that may account for the separation too, they should be bonded to the outer shell but if there's that much movement something's going to give

Hi

    Looks like the bonding bush to shell failed. Was the weight on the arm's when you tightened up the bolts? If it was my guess is the bush is faulty, If not and it was down at the bottom of it's travel when tightened the bush would flex to far and possably  fail exactly as it has

Had something like that happen in 2021. Brand new, 1 track day.

    Looks like the bonding bush to shell failed. Was the weight on the arm's when you tightened up the bolts? If it was my guess is the bush is faulty, If not and it was down at the bottom of it's travel when tightened the bush would flex to far and possably  fail exactly as it has

 

I have made this mistake before. Reinstalled the front crossmember in the LX and tightened everything up before it was on the wheels. Tore all the control arm bushes…

Yes most certainly....the full vehicle weight was on the arms before tightening the bolts... took it for a gentle drive around the block prior, then up on the poverty pack ramps to tighten..

Yes, same here, was careful with the the correct tightening sequence. Must be a bad batch around as we replaced ours with a new set and 2 years later still good.
I guess some of this stuff could be manufactured then sit on shelves for 2 days or 2 years. Might take years for the batch to dribble through suppliers?

I have not asked RC who supplies the bushes they provide in the kits... Im a bit over the matter TBH.

Not that I have found from my own personal experience.

Well, a reply.
I have requested a refund from Resto Country (RC) and have engaged my wheel aligner to fit Superpro ones in there instead.

I have not asked RC who supplies the bushes they provide in the kits... Im a bit over the matter TBH.

The refund has amounted to $65.18. That is to cover the X2 LCA inner pivot bushes and I also asked for money back on the X4 control rod bushes too.

My wheel aligner Protrac, are fitting LCA bushes which i was advised can be supplied in 3 different % compounds - 70% (softest), 80% (medium), 90% (firmest) of which i have requested the medium.

Control rod bushes are being changed to Superpro too (on advice), unsure of the % compound though, was advised there was only 1 choice - So OK just put em in.

I was talking to a restorer in Perth today, and he told me to stay away from Mackay bushes made after about 2015 because they were falling apart. He didn't have anything nice to say about the rares ones either.  So is there a good rubber bush for LH available anywhere?

Get onto it Neil. Front end needs to go back in the car in a couple of weeks.  Andrew has a set as well, but......well you know.....blood from a stone!!
