Hi,

Does anyone know if you can get replacement fuse boxes? I was just thinking of replacing the old fuse box with one utilising the modern blade fuses. So i wondered if you could buy one over the counter or maybe use one from a wrecked vehicle.

Cheers,
Scott.

If it aint broke... Why fix it?

What do you not like about glass fuses, that makes you want to change to a blade fuse box?

There are plenty of different style fuse boxes available. I don't think it would be worth the effort unless you were re-wiring the car.

this one looks alright as it has two power feed terminals, so you can put constant power to one, and ignition to the other or whatever you want to set it up with

Because I habit of messing around with things and have them end up worse than when I started!! :banghead:

Actually it was just a simple reason. I was somewhere the other day and had a fuse blow and the nearest store didn't have any glass ones. I then thought it might make a neat rainy day project.

Narva do a 6,8 or 10 way fuse block that has a single power feed.
Part # FBX-N54431. Available from Alanco or anyone else that deals with Narva.

But if you want to replace the whole fuse box, I would be looking at retro fitting a painless or other wiring kit.
To be honest, make your rainy day project finding glass fuses and chuck a bag of them in your glove box. There's nothing wrong with them.

Hi All,
Needed a Glass Fuse one Day and could not get hold of one, but then I saw a Beer cap and the rest is History.
So the Beer cap makes a great tempory Fuse if needed. Dave I

Main advantage I can see to the mini type fuses is you can replace them with mini CBs and not have to worry about replacing them, just reset if they pop.

I bought a baintech one from battery world. 12 way and mounted it in the glovebox. $69 I think it was. They also sell them on ebay. 1 main positive feed and 1main negative feed with 12 individual circuits max 30 amps each.

The mini circuit breakers sound like a good idea, are they easily available?
