Yeah I couldn't be happier mate. Now if I could just have a warm day down here so I can put this rear seat out i'll be able to put it in the car. Looks like Sunday's the day forecast for 28 and sunny.

Gday Heatho. Yes shouldn't be long now, only a few weeks away. I have to run the engine, gearbox and clutch in when I get her back so I will come for a run up your way and call in.

Good stuff Wayne.

Just over 2 weeks now to the show.... we've distributed the better part of 3,000 flyers and the show is generating huge interest from the various forums, clubs, workshops, and businesses that we've approached.

If the weather is on our side, it should be a massive day, can't wait!

Engine is supposed to be going in tomorrow. I am going down there to see the progress, give him a hand and put some nice door trims on as well. Its cutting it fine not to mention my father in laws birthday on the same day. Hopefully I can come during the day and maybe shoot over there with the fam after tea.

Yeah mate. Seats are in, engines in and just putting some other bits and pieces in the engine bay. Going down there tomorrow to put the radiator and thermo's in, but still got the booster to install. Engine and gearbox went in last week and I installed the clutch master cylinder, wiper motor and heater. Still have to have a new exhaust system installed which I get a quote for that today. Probably won't make it for next weekend but we'll try our best.

Not looking good guys. Cars going in tomorrow for the exhaust installation and might be there all week. Still a few odds and ends to be done in the engine bay yet too.

Only 3 days until the show, can't wait!

The response for this show has been fantastic so far. If the weather gods are kind on the day it should be huge.... there should be a bit of everything to see on the day.

* We also have a good variety of stall holders coming.
* The CFA are pumped up and ready to run the food and drinks for us, as well as Mr. Whippy and a mobile 'coffee dude'.
* Jumping castle for the kids
* Goodie bags for the 1st 200 cars through the gates.
* There will be a variety of giveaways, vouchers, and awards
* Trophies include Rare Spares "Real Street" and "Real Restoration". There's also "People's Choice", plus a few others like "Tough Street" etc. Find out more on the day!

Unfortunately the live music has fallen through - the Manhattan Hotel couldn't get the permit for amplified music (too residential). Not to worry, the show must go on, and it's something we can work towards for next year when looking at bigger and better venues.

And don't forgot - The Manhattan Hotel have an awesome bistro area, TAB's, and a lager bar with beer garden.... just in case you get bored looking at cool cars!

Hope to see some of you on Sunday :)

Wow sounds like a great day Brett, I am really missing out. Having a bar with a bistro and a TAB close by, what more could a man want... good weather would just top it off.

I'll be sure to post up plenty of pics... we also have a professional photographer attending the day... his work is fantastic... check it out here:

One of the prizes on the day is a free pro-shoot with him. Someone will be very happy winning that one!

I was just talking to my mate about some work stuff, and I could hear people in the back ground...I asked him where he was at, and he is out there now, ha ha... (he is in a '97 Camaro convertible with '69 front and back)

He mentioned seeing a nice white Torrie hatchback so far at least out there :)

I'm still buzzing after a huge day today. For our first show it certainly exceeded our expectations, with well over 300 cars passing through the gates. Not only that, but the overall quality was incredible.

What a great day, perfect weather, great cars, and great people! Big crowd all day.... thanks to everyone who came along! As expected, it turned into a constantly rotating car show, with people coming and going from 7:30am right up beyond 3pm... it seemed to peak around lunchtime, with numbers falling off pretty quickly after that. I had a bloody ball smile.gif

We achieved our primary objective of gathering a large variety of cars, and the feedback we're receiving on this alone is fantastic!

I don't have a final figure just yet (stay tuned), but some big funds were raised for the CFA which is excellent. Every cent raised today went straight to those guys, and they did a great job manning the food and drinks all day.

I'm absolutely buggered... pics will follow at some stage soon.

Keen to hear any feedback - positive or negative - to help improve next years event....

Cheers,

Brett.
