Hey guys need some help knowing wat my plate means. LH8vb69. Plz. Is it a 202 red straight 6 or not etc. thank you

that number isn't enough, try the bottom line on eng , diff and gbox.

according to my book the b indicates s pack 6 or 8 cyl 4 door

l 3300

d 1974

m20 4 speed

LD1 = High compression 173 (2850) 6cyl.

8VB69 = Torana S 4door sedan.

Pretty sure LD1 is actually 173

L20 would be 3300 (202)

Thanks again guys but another question where is the vin number stamped in the car. There is no vin plate

The only number stamped into the body of the car is the chassis number and that number should match the number on the Compliance Plate (the one with the build date and all the ADR numbers). The chassis number is stamped near the edge of the flat panel above the drivers side chassis rail approx 6 inches or so rearward of the radiator.

If the long skinny VIN tag is not there then yes it must be lost.

Your correct Wayne, I forgot the body number is derived from the PSN.
