I need to get the Steering rack in the LX Rebuilt ,Just had all the front alignment done after putting the Hopper Stopper Brakes on, having to swap Stub's around etc meant it all had to be re-aligned and cost me $150.00 I get the car back and I'm now told the Steering rack needs re-built!.

Is there a place in Perth that specialises in rebuilding Old Steering Racks?? and any idea what they charge for it?...............

I think they get sent over East for reconditioning.  Ask Wilkinson suspension in Bayswater.

Wilks rebuilt mine late last year.

Was about $220 from memory (I do kill a lot of brain cells though)

Top job, ask for Brett, he's their Torry guru.

Had mine done there (Wilkinsons) about 3 months ago, they only charge for what actually needs doing to it so price will vary. Seem to recall they said the full rebuld if required was about the $200 mark. Fast turn around too, I dropped it of in the morning and picked up up mid afternoon the same day.

I got an email today from them saying that the basic Rebuild is only $140.00 and if it needs Rack ends or Tie Rod Ends then will be additional cost = so I'll run with that and remove the rack and take it up there when I get the time to do so...

I'll Just open this up again as last post was 2013.
Wilkinson's still repairing steering racks if needed.
Top business still only repair what's needed. Sent mine there , told me only bushes needed replacing.
The rest was in good order. $125
Cheapest part I've had repaired on my torana. Cheers Wilkinson's.

I have used malaga power steering a few times to rebuild older racks, reasonable price, was ok to deal with.
