I'm pretty sure the top needs to be changed... ie: the hoses are on the wrong side.

it will fit, but as rim said, the hoses top and bottom will be on the wrong sides for a 6, unless u have a chev v8 radiator

heey, i was right. Its always good to relay truthful information around.

I was planning the same conversion for my LJ, as i have a new V8 radiator at home.

yes, we know they fit Troy, but the V8 ones wont be anygood because of the pipe locations.
just some useless info, the chassis rails on a LC/J are the same distance apart as on a LH/X! so basically any rad that will fit in 1 will fit in the other

the radiator in mine is a chev /Hq radiator the chevs have the hoses on the same sides as the holden 6
i had to remove the fan for clearance
so i added twin 10" thermo fans to the front of the radiator
over heating is never an issue

cheers tom

Old thread... Hopefully someone is listening... I have a HQ rad sitting in my LC right now and it is bolted in the oval holes and sitting up too high - the bonnet hits the cap. Is it trimming the bottom corners of the mounting panels that will allow it to sit down lower? Cheers

I’ve fitted a VB,VC, VH,VK 6 cylinder radiator to my LC. The core is exactly the samedimensions as the cut out in the Torana radiator support panel. Drilled two holes on stone tray to mount and a bracket off the bonnet catch mounting bolts and no clearance problems under the bonnet.

Cheers piquet, but I already have the HQ radiator and would like to use it. Just wondering where to actually trim it.

It will be the mounting flanges on either side of the radiator. You may have to redrill the mounting bolt holes as well.
