Hi all

Anyone on here going to the drags next Sunday 16th June? There is a bunch of us ACT blokes heading up to run our cars. Will be my first run down a strip so really looking forward to seeing what the hatch can do. It will be its last hoorah before I sell it so hopefully I won't break anything LOL.

Make sure you come and say hello if you do decide to go. I will be in my white flareless hatch with ACT plates. There will be other ACT / NSW registered torry's there with me. Hopefully it won't be raining!

Back from a long day. Nice to be able to drive a car from Canberra to Sydney, drag race it and then drive it home in one piece. Some very quick cars today. Met up with James from this forum. He has a very tidy Contessa Gold LH with a very stout 330 stroker. Managed an 11.99 the last pass I saw. Great chatting with him too.

As for the Canberra bunch, I think we all appreciate now just how hard it is to get a good launch when on the track :-). In saying that, there were some very respectable times. I will leave it for those to post up if they want. As for my little 308, I could only get a best of 13.5 @107 MPH. It was very hard to get a good launch with the old M21 and only 3:36 gears. Anyway, was a great experience for a first timer. The next car I take up will hopefully be a bit grumpier though and post a more respectable time :-)

Hey Gerry... great to meet you and the other guys from the ACT. I had a great day myself...was great to see a couple of very tidy hatch's at the track too.

Im sure with a set of slicks and a real gearbox and you be well into the 12s!!

Great to meet you...look forward to seeing you guys again soon!!
