Anyone know of someone making these up for sale. The metal termites have been eating the original.

Thanks. Yes I talked to Paul but he is not doing them anymore. I have a cross section so might just have to talk to a sheety but was hoping that someone was doing them. You have to hate metal termites they sure can make a big mess.

If you do end up getting one folded up.....the only rust on my entire car is sort of the similar spot (drive side as well)  don't need a huge piece, the termites only got to an area about 2" long..(it does go out around to the 1/4 panel outside area too though)  but would be interested in one too if you went ahead and had some done.

I imagine that section would be easy to make for any Sheetmetal place, all you need is the dimensions. From memory that lower section is almost straight too.

It's first thing in the morning now, so how did they come out? :D

(And I will double check the termite damage and what length will do the trick, thanks!)

No wonder everything is so messed up in apple pie land, you drive on the wrong side of the road and every night for century's we have had to send the sun around so that your hens get a chance to lay eggs.

We have not taken legal after you removed Torries from our shores.

I think we Aussies have been far too kind hearted and thoughtful.

Americans is there any hope?

It's a hard call.  :stirpot:

Yeh right like the American idea of style is a good thing!

Please if it wasn't for the fact that you own a Torana I would be saying go easy on your consumption of VB.  :stirpot:

Looking at the AMC and Pontiac I would say your stylists might have once lived in the Kremlin.

Thread resurrection! Anyone know where I can buy these repro panels? Or can someone make them and be willing to sell to me?
Cheers Mick.

Is this the c pillar section of a hatch (hard to tell on my computer), if so Rarespares make a replacement panel which I have and my panel guy is about to fit.  I will let you know what he thinks of it.  Cheers Ron

Sorry disregard my earlier post.  Correct me if I'm wrong but you are referring to the inner panel under the panel that Rares reproduce?  If so I am in need of some as well.  I just got back from the panel shop and it's ugly.  I will post pics when I get them off my phone.  Cheers  Ron

G'day Ron

Read below - This is a post Grant put up awhile ago on making certain rust repair panels.

So contact Torananut ( Grant )

Hi everyone,
Hopefully in the near future I will start to make a few rust replacement sections for LH-LX toranas. The first item that I am working on is new tail light buckets. Luckily I have collected a few N.O.S. items over the years and I was fortunate enough to find a new tail light bucket many years ago so I have a good example to compare to and get as correct as possible. My question to everybody in the torana world is what other panels do people need for their projects? My aim is to make the panels/ patches that are currently not available, but having said that if people tell me that a product on the market is of poor quality an doesn't fit I may be able to make one myself as long as I have a genuine panel to work off for measurements.

My panels will be made by hand and not pressed overseas so I will not be making them in enormous numbers and with low overheads I hope to keep the prices affordable. If all goes well I may be able to look at panels for other toranas and even other cars in the future but to start with it will be LH-LX's as I know them best (I have six of them in various conditions).

Looking forward to your feedback on what panels/ rust replacement patches you are looking for to complete your projects, and any other thoughts you have on what I can manufacture in the near future.

Cheers, Grant

Thanks Aaron.  I've spoken with Grant and he is going to have a look at both the inner channel section, which was the title of the initial post, and the top of the 1/4 panel that sits under that, within the next few days.  Will let you all know how we get on.  Cheers Ron

Make sure there is a slight curve in it. I'm sure there is from memory.
If I had more time I would make some.

Thanks Bart.  Grant has a hatch that he can use to get the right profiles etc.  Cheers Ron
