Harry has always been a Holden racing legend with the great will to win races. It brings back great memories whenever I am reminded about the stories of just how Harry (even when given unsuitable parts) worked his way into making them hang together and win races. I was just reminded as to Harrys push to try to produce an A9X that was 35% lighter and 15% more power. That sparked another memory of what I thought (at the time) was some sort of scam in an advert I had read. Many many years ago (can't be sure when ..... probably late 80's early 90's) I got a hold of a unique cars or unique parts magazine looking for Torana bits (as is/was normal for me). Now its been a needle in a haystack trying to re-find that advert in my piles of old mags, but it had LX aluminium bonnets, nosecone, fenders etc for sale. Have to remember at the time no internet or great wealth of easy accessible knowledge it was all pub talk and wives tales. I remember thinking the ad was just wishful thinking .

Yet another time I should have followed through and made a phone call because they did exist and where produced. You have to wonder sometimes what if Holden had the balls to back Harry.

The 'H' was all ways thinking ahead for sure, Holden had to be secret because of the GM race ban on world wide, so hence the no backing harry fully, shame they didn't, as Harry would of came up with some awesome machines

my best mate had 2 rear doors and a bootlid
that were aluminium inner and outer in the late 80's
if the back doors were locked and you reefed on the door handle they would
bend like hyundai doors
pop the key in the bootlock and you better hold the sucker down
or it would spring up so fast you think they are going to break the back window
could hold a door up with one finger
went with his brothers car (white a9x sedan) when he sold it!
only taken till the new VF to get alloy boot n bonnet

Big Fan of the 'H' as well pop's SS, 95 the H, only 5 years to go Harry for the big 100, I sent him big photos of his Queen st. HDT Workship to sign for me, he signed and posted back with no worries, he was very interested in how I got them and we talked about the V8 LJ Prototypes and the Gene Cook Pink V8 XU-1 as well.
