I'll have some excellent video of your Dads car as Ed was close behind for a few laps.
Transporter gets back later tonight so will post later this week.

What a great weekend. Lakeside is easily the most exhilarating circuit in Australia.

Jim Richards was so smooth and fast, the Sierra a rocket ship as they always were, and the ex Johnson Mustang handled like an open wheeler.

Looking forward lots to Muscle Car Masters.

Ok awesome Craig!
I ballsed up Fridays practice of recording as I had the camera too high.
Saturdays was good!
Sunday the camera kept going flat! :(

Considering most of us were all fresh to lakeside we all loved the track!
So fast & fantastic for viewing! Will definitely be back!

& I had a ball taking our SLR out for the show & shine laps too!

Massive congrats to Jeff for taking out 1st for Group C, & Dan for helping him get there!

Also did anyone happen to get footage or photos of willies spin coming down the back?

I have a full and very clear in car of Willy's spin.

Very very close to a major accident that would have cleaned up at least five other cars.

Cold tyres, oversteer, tank slapper, then two full spins, then another tank slapper, and finally back onto the track. Scary.

It certainly was a great result for Jeff. After the open practice season on Friday I asked him how he went. His response was "petrified"

Ha ha - I think he perfectly summed up what everyone else was thinking!!

The SLR is a unique and significant vehicle. Congrats to your family for having it in your possession.

Haha yes he was very very lucky!

Ill have to get your address via PM & send a USB stick through.

Yeah dad was the same on Friday, wasn't until the after noon he felt comfortable!

Thanks for the comments on the SLR! Lot of work went into bringing it back to its original glory

Taken from Speedshots.com.au.

Good picture of both Shaun's and the STP car.

We took the rear bar off the Commodore late Friday and it gave the car heaps of punch out of the corners, particularly this one!!

Best time for us was 59.4 seconds during the first race on Sunday morning.

Richards was a low 57 with Pye a few tenths back.

That's a great shot! Specially lifting a wheel!
Ed's time was quick!
Dad got down to 1.01
Pretty happy he got the L34 down to that

The L34 looked like it was understeering.
Did your Dad say that? Maybe older tyres?

Richards got the skyline down to 57.05, Craig's Starion did a 57.08. Bill did a 57.13 iirc.

Fred Gibson was overheard asking Jum why he wasn't doing 54's there like the old days, Jum replied "if you still owned the car it would be" hahahaha....

What a great weekend. I had a head cold but managed to battle through. Luckily the Starion didn't need too much, just collecting tyre data etc. Lakeside is the second best track in aus behind Bathurst I reckon, it's like a roller coaster!
