they say to use hq mounts and will clear t5 cable manual. i bought thr tri ys and they fit ok. hit a little on the starter and the collector need bending down. still 1 3/4" ebay $645 over all i liked them. if the 4 into ones are as good a fit i would be happy but not with the price.

I paid 1300, running hq tuff mounts and castles trans mount also

Beats the 2500 for custom pipes

Holdens tend to like Tri-y,s anyway I wouldn't run 4 into 1s , I've gone 10.28 with the STD pacemakers ;)

yeah it would have to be a pretty nice engine or blown to worrie bout 4/1. the paceys are good but wont fit a manual box and are smaller primarys than the castle ones.

Apologies for jumping in on this thread, but I'm interested in knowing if anyone has tried off the shelf headers bolted up to a 350 Chev in a UC? I'm about to drop the motor in the car and on the lookout for a decent exhaust system. Quotes on custom 4 into 1's are anywhere from $2500 up. Do Castle make something that has been tried and tested?

I'm dead keen to see these just bolt straight in with no clearance issues as claimed by castle, the set of tri y's I got are shit! I had to cut and bend and still had to modify my starter motor and they foul on the lower rear arm and floor pan.

Best would be spend the extra coin and get a set made.

I Hope for you they have improved their products

Chev + LH/LX/UC = Custom

If you want em to fit right , depending on mounts, heads, starter, ect.

$2500 is cheap for a custom set, I won't even scare you with how much mine cost :o

Maybe for drag racing, not much ground clearance for street use

The supplier I used agreed for a full refund if they didn't fit straight out of the box so I have no issues taking them back if they don't fit

Can't wait to see the installed pics....
I am guessing the off the shelf units all have clearance/fit issues?
Pacemakers, HMs, Genie would have expected these to fit up straight out the box, like the V8 torana wasn't released last week!
I like the look of these Castles because they are flanged on the outlets, but would the 4 - 1 design mean they wouldn't be much help with low down torque?
Like to hear some thoughts on these questions.

No good or torque but neither is the rest of my combo, hi rise single plane manifold, 288 solid cam, 750 Holley, etc

Apparently they had an lx torana which they made the first set off, my supplier claims they fit, if they don't he will be getting them back, hope to find out in a week or two guys

Engine is in, was a tight fit but so far pipes fit, the only thing that needed a bit of a knock was the dip
Stick, haven't got the tranny on yet, but so far looking promising
