heres my baby, 75 lh. shes my first car and I got her when I was 15. had a bit of a rough run early on as I got crashed into a couple weeks after getting my licence. then 10 days after getting fixed up a had a nose to tail. being young and poor she went and sat under my nanas car port until I had some money and a garage to fix up the damage..

unfortunately for my torrie I got a lil side tracked and built up a mazda ute over the last 7 or 8 years. now I have that pretty much buttoned up and one side of my garage free it was time to bring her home.

this is when I first got it. bought it off an apprentice panel beater who had recently done panel and paint.

so after 11 years under nanas carport she is in her new home.

started fixing her up. ordered a few replacement panels then will be off to the panel beater

Nice car mate and looks to be a good project.

That looks like an opal 4 banger.....if it is, the k-frame is different and you'll need to either cut and weld the engine mounts on it or bolt in a 6cyl or V8 k-frame.

Good luck with it.

ah bugger, that's not what I wanted to hear. cheers though. better to know now. so I would be welding in the mounts off a 6/8 cyl K frame ? I have the vn crossmember I could cut up or make new ones? torana parts are hard to find these days over here(NZ)

Correct. Your best bet is to grab a 6cyl or V8 k frame.

If you try and fab something, I think you'd probably get the alignment wrong and cause no end of grief.

Nice project mate, I was going to say the same thing about the k frame but i got bet to it.

The search never works just use google
" gmh torana ( your search here) " and then you will get all the results.

have got a complete 6 cyl uc k frame on the way. got a good deal on an alloy radiator aswell.

I can get a good price on a hoppers 280mm kit but it is in commodore stud pattern. is it common for people to run hq/chev wheels with commo pcd?

gonna stick with the flareless guards. the 9's have a 5.5inch backspace so may still tuck in the guard? will have a look once I get around to the rear end.

thanks j.e.d. ive been reading up on a few builds getting me in the zone. my time is pretty limited to work on it but I try and make the most of it

Yeah those rims should fit, just depends on the width of your diff. I have 8in rims with 4.5 bs and they are close to the outer guard with about a good 1.5inch spare on the inside with a 235 tyre. I would think the guards would have to be rolled though. I hope you got those rims spun up because they buckle easily being alloy.

Not sure if you got your ball joints yet but the moog ones are the best and very cheap from the U.S. Let us know if you need them and someone will point you in the right direction.

Look forward to your build.
