If you put it on ebay and say it is I believe that makes it so.

At least thats what some of the ebay sellers seem to believe.

It certainly puts it in the right time frame, but the thing is does it make it any more special?

Wouldn't say it is nothing special then. Date wise it would be suitable for a 9/73 XU1.

The fact that you can't see the date stamps with the dash installed could also make it suitable for 7th and 8th month cars.

The date is in an ink stamp in the middle of the cluster, obviously GTR and XU-1 of the same Aug Sept period would be the same ie dual needle reading but retaining Miles for the odometer.

The fact that the speedomerer is 9/73 indicates that this is likely to be a match for the ink stamp date in the triangle mentioned above.

The facia itself is correct for GTR and XU-1 any time from late 72 on to finish of production in Sept 73 in XU-1, or early 1974 for a GTR.

No dual scale speedometer had a miles odometer. They were all KM odometers.

KMH on the speedo dial was the primary scale. Miles was the secondary scale.
