So I've done some calculations and I reckon Brock's and Torana's first ever win at Bathurst was on Sunday 1st of Brocktober.

I think it would be nice if we made this the unofficial National Torana Day and had a cruise in every state/city/region to celebrate.

Only problem is it will quite often be a weekday, and if we make it the first weekend of October it clashes with Bathurst.

So, I was thinking we could make it the second weekend of October.

It doesn't have to be massive or over-organised, just an opportunity for us all to get together and celebrate our Torana's for one day a year.

What do the rest of you think?

We have about a month to work something out if other's are keen.

If not I'll just do it on my own  :P

Who cares if its a weekday, just take a "public holiday" for "religeous purposes".

Bathurst is now held on the 2nd weekend in October, has been since at least 2000.

So it is, sorry bout that.

I read on Wikipedia that it had been moved back to the 1st weekend but it appears not.

I guess you can't believe everything you read on the Internet.

I'M 100% in. Some sort of event in Melbourne would be good even if it's once a year. Everything else has been shut down

YOU WILL NEVER BE LAYE IN A 308

National Torana Day every day you take her out for a drive....

People appreciate seeing the old beasts out driven on the road more and more every day.

Ok, so 6th October it is then.

It doesn't have to be a nationally organised thing, but it would be good if someone from each state/area to organise a cruise or something for that day.

So far we have;

WA - Gene - Already promised to organize a forum run for Early October. Cheers mate. I'm happy to help out but need to get my car sorted.  :P

VIC - Macka is already organising a cruise - that's if you guys choose that date, and there is no reason others can't do something different.

Any others chuck up what you're planning here but I would suggest putting details in the Club Events section cause that's where people look for this kind of stuff.

My vision for this is not necessarily to say you have to do something on this day, its more to pick a date where moving forward we create a tradition of getting together and celebrating the Torana at a great time of the year.

Or at the very least, filling the roads with Torries for one day all around the nation!!

There's not a lot of time for planning either so if it doesn't get off the ground much this year we can aim for a big one next year.

I know Big T tried to do something like this a few years back and no-one could agree on a date, that's been done now so lets get something going!!

EDIT: Not saying everyone has to be in a Torana to attend either, the idea is that we all do something on this day, whether it just be wearing a Torana t-shirt or whatever you want.

'NATIONAL TORANA DAY'
Is about telling all of us what happened on the 1st Sunday of Brocktober with TORANA's.
Yeah I think that will have to be it, where ever we all are on the first Sunday of Brocktober,
we all input the TORANA finds into the N.T.D. Thread.

Today is the day.

I'm off to Captain Munchies for the car park show.

I know its not just Toranas and I won't be in a Torana but I will be wearing a Torana shirt if I can find one  :spoton:

Hoping to catch up with DTrain and maybe meet some others.

My son Lachy and I celebrated Torana day by going to the Captain Munchies Car Park show.

A massive turnout and a few Toranas.

Here's a few pics, I didn't take many cause I only had my phone.

This is Toranamuc, it has been on the forum a few times before, a very nice 4 door, and I really like the wheels, got me considering painting mine black

A nice LC GTR and I think the blue car in the background is a forum members car, Dave I think?

Some more torries, I think the yellow one also belongs to a forum member.

I saw a few cars I recognised and a few familiar faces but just enjoyed the cars and the sound and smell.

Was talking in Chat the other Night,

and we found out that the First Torana was made on the 21st of May 1967 ( hope that is correct ),

that we could Celebrate the National Torana Day on that Day,

or the 3rd Weekend in May.

What do you all think. Dave I

Also, has anyone got a good idea for a Shirt Design?
