Im looking for some sticky 13" tyres for my turbo 186 torana. So far its run 12.3@133mph, so Im hoping to use some form of boost at the start line. Ive looked at the M&H street strip tyres 205/60r13 on my 5.5" steel rims. But these are a bias ply tyre so that would mean I would need bias ply on the front also? Trying to find a 13" bias ply front tyre might be hard. Any other options? Cheers

Yeah the problem is they aren't a radial, there a bias ply which means I need to change the front also. I dont know about retreads at 130+ mph lol. Cheers

Yeah I would buy drag radials if I could but none of the common brands make a 13" radial.

Just buy a set of rags for the front as well and chuck them on some spare rims.

I was surprised to find out these 235/45/13 were available new. they looked sticky. Think they are a street/strip tyre. Bought in Sydney.

Hi Jason, I saw them on a car at ToranaFest and spoke to the owner about them.  Can't remember the shop name.

I think you'd need wider rims for these.

Plenty of rubber there for a 13 inch wheel.  Here's hoping they work out and you start getting in the 11 sec's.

my car should have the power to run in the 11s.i had a mid 13 second sr20 turbo silvia best speed was 103.9mph.when my torana was registred in my mates name it out accelerated my silvia from start to finish.over the quater mile it was at 4800 rpm with 3.08 gears and 205/60/13 with bf goodrichs tyres.i was shifting at 5000 rpm.my cam goes to 5500 rpm.when i done the tyre size x revs x transmission = 118mph.the revs where still climbing fast.thanks jason.

118mph should see you around 11.7 et

Thats what my hatch did anyway

I always ran a slick on a 7" wide rim on my old LC

Back then though rag front tyres were fairly easy to find
