Thanks Ken, that is a help with the extractors and good to hear the T5 is hanging in there. Are you using a cable or hydraulic clutch?

I went cable too, because I have never had a hydraulic set up that felt right or looked ok, plus I took it all from the donor car I used. :-) Worth asking as I reckon hydraulic systems have improved since I last tried one in 1992 or so!
Great progress here mate, I look forward to seing it all finished. Not as much as you do I'm sure...

Haha that's for sure!!!
Just out of interest, I rang dellow conversions, as im only a few streets away.
He reckons you cant run a hydraulic clutch with the T5 bellhouisng as commodores never came with a hydraulic clutch.
Have to change it to a Torana bellhousing and change forks and stuff.
He's going to email me instructions.
Until then im sure there will be a post on here about it.

Somehow thought your car was kind of familar as once worked in the area & used to cruise around there visiting mates & relatives.
Tbh,hydraulic has never really quite felt right but when going to button clutch or something really heavy it's ok for in/out clutch peddle.
Bought the last v8 lc hydraulic setup off Dellows.

Hi Ken,
Nice work. Jealous of your progress and not being able to work on mine
Where did you order you QA1's from?
Difficult to find the correct ones to fit the Torana?
Happy building
Cheers, Tom

Cheers Tom!!!
I got the QA1's from Mcdonnel Bros Racing.
I just rang them up.
Its a minimal mod fit up, you just have to grind off the captive nuts on the lower control arms and use a through-bolt. 910 min with a die grinder).
Saying that, I haven't fitted them yet!
They carry them in stock with three different springs to suit.
I've heard you can buy them direct from the states though........

Thanks Ken,
Sounds easy, might do the same.
They have a nice tubular front end on their Facebook page. Don't need one but.....

Very productive weekend,
I scratched the left hinge pretty bad so I took them off and stripped them.
Paint time for the hinges, boot, and inner boot lid.
Bolted it all up Saturday morning.

I was too scared to remove my boot hinges !
Ended up painting them in situ and then blacking out the lower portion.

Got a whole days work in today.
Turned the car around in the Garage and started on the drivers side.
Stripped the doors, rubbed back the sills and door jams, and found a hidden surprise . . . . . . . . a quick welding job, and then into primer ready for next week.
There is light at the end of the tunnel!!!

A quick Monday night rust repair.
This is the bottom front corner of the drivers door.
This was the only spot of really bad rust at the bottom of any of the doors . . . . . .
