I see they made the mounts that's the easy part its the sump/pick up that is the main issues as well as fire wall clearance because that needs to be cut and remade for clearance and radiator clearance issues the list goes on I now 1st hand the trouble im afraid its not as easy as just buy mounts, hope no one gets caught with that our one took many hours to get right with the sump, mounts, brakes, gearbox, radiator, fuel system ect.ect.ect

Look at pic with m/cyl & booster barely room for piping to fit & engine looks to be sitting high so if they want to sell the kit should show it can be completed & passed.

Read complaints about the ls1 headers & conversions not fitting well enough as it is.

It looks like there trying to keep the stock twin turbo setup, i wonder why? Thats the first thing everyone will frOck off. Personally i wouldnt look at fitting a 1j or 2j with the stock mani's....

Totally 100,000% less gay than a LS1 or a RB30.

Not as cool as a Barra engine.

Cheers.

All those engines are gay. I will stick with my 138. Not everything in life has to be really fast to be appreciated, just ask your GF or wife or BF.

.

I guess if you're going to design a kit it has to be fully legal to make the investment worthwhile.

You could get a modified one passed in a pre-pollution Torana but it would cost a lot more for emissions testing I think.

Last time i checked most the state rules an aftermarket exhaust manifold was not illegal.

Getting a stock motor engineered is always going to be easier than a modified one.

If you change from twin to single turbo it's an entirely different motor emissions wise.

If you go with the stock set-up all the facts and figures are already known.

They're producing a basic kit so Joe Bloggs can bolt one into his car and be sure of rego without too much frigging around.

Toyota computers are not tuneable so you need an aftermarket job if you change the turbo set-up.

Butt.....

A stock 1j or 2j will make approximately as much HP as a very basic turbo 202 build with around the same reliability for around the same cost. Huffer on a holden six is a mere mod plate away.

So why frOcking bother?

I personally would not purchase a "kit" that is "engineered" if i knew for a fact that to get any real benefit from it i would have to change frOcking everything and get it re engineered anyway.

Cheers.

I think your list needs some work Bomber

And yes.. changing to single turbo creates rego dramas for new conversions

Many do what they want after rego but for the purposes of getting those ellusive rego plates stock twin turbo setup is often required

I know it is here for my local electrician who has put a jz into his RA23 celica
