Hi all,

I have been looking through some posts on this site, as i have concerns about purchasing front end parts which could come from china or taiwan and it seems like the moog ball joints are  very reputable.

I would appreciate a little help from the experts with a couple of questions if i might.

Is there a decent supplier in australia for moog ball joints....?

Do they make tie rod ends as well as ball joints....?

Can anyone recommend a good quality tie rod end if not...?

Would you use a ball joint with a nylex nut instead of a split pin...?

All opions are greatly appreciated as i only want to do these jobs once, and do them right.

Many thanx...

Al

Hi Al,

I have not heard of a supplier in Aust for Moog ball joints. Best to buy them from the U.S as they are very cheap and postage is not a lot. You can buy them from the links below.

They are a bit cheaper at Rock auto's where I bought mine.

To my knowledge they dont make tie rod ends for Torana and I dont think we have come across a compatible one in the U.S for a Torana either. I have some Transteering tie rods ends on order but I havent tried them yet, I am sure someone could recommend you a good tie rod end. It seems the most people recommend to use a tie rod end with a split pin but most these days are using the nylex nut.

Hope this answers most of your questions.

Cheers Wayno

AFIK most top speed shops and rare spares sell moog.
Datto also sells them from time to time here.
Still probably cheaper to buy direct from the USA.

Thanx for the good advice guys, with the size of the potholes in my part of the world, strong ball joints and tie rod ends are a must. I am also dreading the thought of using 15-16 inch rims with low profile tyres, but it seems as that is the best way to go these days, specially if upgrading the front brakes. Decisions , decisions.....
