G'day guys/girls
i'm tossing up the idea of fitting an rb30 with a rb26 head turbo ect
into the Lc.
apart from the engine build are there any hazzards to watch out for.
i want to back it up with an r32 5speed and a vr ss diff.
also how many company's do the conversions for these

Theres a GTR in Perth with an RB26 in it (single turbo)
Had to remove booster to clear head........ runs a Pajero master cylinder and remote booster for fronts
I believe someone does RB into LC brackets........ probably CRS

thats what i thought, i've bought a few items off crs and with the experiance i've had with there products i try to avoid them like the plague :furious:
but it's interesting what you say about the booster, what's a setup like that worth?

its quite a simple conversion provided your patient and are prepared to not scab on spending money in the right places.

Crs do make the engine mount sets for it.

Find a series 2 vl rb30 block, the 26 head will bolt straight on with no need for modifiing stud holes etc.

Depending on the turbo manifold you use, if low mount(regular) you will need to cut the inner area of the engine bay about an inch to make room for the turbo.

I have a magazine here from years ago with a conversion into an lx hatch, but most of the information is relevant so ill scan it up for you.

well to get a 26 head with computer loom manifold etc, well lets just say you will be better of buying gtr32 a half cut, instead of trying to source parts individually. UNless of course you can find a chewed up gtr block and work from there

s eries 2 block can be found as cheap as 100 from wreckers but then you have to build internals up. For a nice round figure i would say just on parts alone without engineering 6-7

For a lot cheaper option you could source a rb25det with everything ready to go(including rb30 block) for around 5. There difference in hp wont be a lot, mainly only noticable when you start winding up the boost.

hi guys i have the RB26 in LJ, goes awsome, only major problems are changing to a hydraulic matser cyl for the clutch, i am having problems with ratio and firewall/heater box shelf flexing when pushing it in,and if you want to run a manual you will have to get floor pan cut out hugely and handbrake modified you will also need to get a rb25 sump and get a custom one made , its a tigh fit between sump and crossmember, you will also need a remote oil filter, thats all i can think of at the moment
cheers steve :spoton: :spoton:
