I recently obtained evidence that my 8/72 xu1 is an original Group E than Group C race. How many of these xu1 race cars do people know of that still exist these days?

I know of 1.
But yet to see any pictures of it....hint hint
Seriously though if you post up a bit more info and some pics, it is likely someone will remember and/or know the car intimately and be able to give you more info than you ever imagined.

There would be a few still around you would think, even Tassy had Group C LJ XU-1's that were built and raced in Tassy at the Plains and Baskerville race track in Tasmania

I have a Group C LJ XU1, driven by Martin Power, and sometimes co driven by John Stoopman, back in the day, then later sold to and used by Jim Gullan very successfully in drag racing for some time. Jim also had amongst other things the infamous REPCO EH utility that had a rather large v8 stuffed into it and was renowned for its rather scary behaviour on the strip. I have plenty of evidence to support this including personal inpection by Martin Power and a VERY complete file of documents right back to day dot. Ian Tate knows the car very well also so there is no doubt whatsoever that it is the real deal..

Small world, I have John Stoopman's August 72 - 73 car which he sold to Graham Slater who then raced in hill climbs and Victorian circuit races before on-selling to Chris Brockhoff who also raced it in Victoria before it was returned to a road car. I have lots of details of Chris Brockhoff's history with car, not so much of Graham's and Stoopmans is well documented in racing car news etc. Ian Tate was pleased to see it at Bathurst last year.Be interested in any other news any one else has on this car.
