What I would like to know, is who has successfully fitted this kit?

Ive currently got the old HQ stub axle setup with Girlock calipers bolted to the rear of the stub.

There are 2x kits

one is hubs and brackets, the other is a whole kit.

Does anyone have any pics of what had to be ground or machined?

I had to grind my K-frame when I put the HQ setup on, years ago, but that is because the calipers are on the rear, and not the front like a standard torana.

Just save a bit more and go Hoppers Stoppers I reckon. They fit, aftersales service is awesome and the quality is great.

I have fitted the UPC 330s to my LX, cant see what every ones issue is. simply grind the required clearance into the top arm and weld in some 1/4 round bar into the top arm above

where you relieve the top arm.

People mod the crap out of other stuff on there cars so I cant see the issue to take a small notch out of the top arm then reinforce it.

Been on my car for years and other than notching the top arm they are a straight bolt up

Probably because they are sold (initially) as a 'bolt on' kit, and chopping up a control arm is far from bolt on, and many people would shy away from modifying suspension components I would imagine ?

There is absolutely ZERO need to cut up your Torana to fit 330mm discs and calipers unless your brain dead and don't know what you are doing. Cutting up your suspension arms is just totally unnecessary and can only be dangerous and frowned upon when gaining registration or permits (pits). Mr Spares, Tony Edwards, UPC only do this because he doesn't give a hoot about doing something properly and will only lay any blame on the purchaser of his so called bolt on kit.

This has been regurgitated not only in this forum but in many other forums. The guy has a clear history of taking your money and under delivering and leaving the purchaser well out of pocket. With so many people saying similar things about  Mr Spares, Tony Edwards, UPC its clear that once warned its up to the individual.

I had never dealt with him until a few years ago but after calling Mr Edwards (for a close mate) in an attempt to sort his brake order I learnt all about this person and his company. What an absolute tosser .... he couldn't understand why his kit wouldn't bolt up. When I told him why he said my mates torana must be different from other LX's and not standard (what bs). I said well its the same as the other 5 x LX toranas that I have here? LOL

I would rather have Syphilis than ever deal with that loser ..... he has no idea.

I've ordered one of these kits for my LH, spewing about it now from what I'm reading. If these use ve calipers does anyone know if the ve 4 piston brembo's are smaller than the stock 2 piston calipers? They look to be not as wide but I haven't been able to compare them side by side.

Hey Hazard

Did you end up fitting the 330 kit successfully?

Cheers, Max

I used the smaller kit for 15" wheels and was pleasantly surprised how it all worked out no issues. Definitely wouldn't go near the 330mm ones ☺️

Hey Guys, I have a UPC 330 mm kit & got it to work. I have perviously answered this here
http://www.gmh-toran...post__p__875156

I brought it about 6 years ago, in hind sight I should have sent it back but being 7 year build I didn't discover the issue until 4 years after purchase. Not to be deterred I made it work without cutting the top arm or k frame.....

Hey guys, I also screwed up and got one of these kits I used HQ stubs with Harrop arms. Like everyone else the caliper hits the uca but I was wondering if anyone has tried using the Ve brembo caliper instead? From what I can tell they don't seem as bulky on the back, any info would be great before I fork out a grand for a set to see if they'll work. Cheers
