Like to hear your stories.

I thought the Mary Kay things were just here, ha ha... they have used pink Cadillacs for a while...sort of a lightish color, not bright pink really. They are factory painted that way. The factory does runs of special order colors I believe....same like the orange ones used in Cal-trans trucks (California highway/roads work trucks) , or what not..

Believe they do runs of yellow for Penske hire trucks here too..along with various other ones.

Seem to remember reading once GM (here) would do any custom color you want if you order enough of a quantity of them..

The last two VG Valiant Pacer hardtops were painted in plum metallic (specially ordered, and the only VG Pacers in that colour) and were used by two Cadbury executives. It was a much nicer colour than the purple Cadbury normally used for its rep cars. Both still exist, and one has nearly finished its resto. (photos below).

Also, in the 1970's, Ecks soft drinks in Croydon Park in Sydney had its rep's HQ Kingswoods specially ordered in a bright green colour (it wasn't a colour available in the HQ range) that matched the company's colours. My father had one for a few years when he worked for them.

Speaking of Plum colors...there were some GM's....Pontiacs or Olds I think ? Painted by GM from the factory, in Mopar Plum Crazy purple. I've read a little about them and talked to a guy who has seen one from memory. Can't recall just what the deal was though or why...but they were the actual Chrysler color. :)

Guess back in the day, the customer really was right, with what ever they wanted, ha ha

And with enough clout (and sales) you could get one done as a one off

The Holden Dealer at Crows Nest had a Walkinshaw -  in Black.

Supposedly the only one according to my old boss - who was the president of the Chamber of Commerce and knew him

I have seen an LX Torana with a paint code for Waltons Blue.  It took me ages to source where the colour came from and according to my source, it was a special order for a large company at the time.  No mention of what company though.  Never seen another one with the paint code the same.

Ummmm....... Waltons ?

There's some darkish green with white roof Hiaces around that I was told are ex-army.

A muso friend up north had one for carting the band's gear around and I have seen one or two others since.

Years ago at a job in Sydney we had an ex-armed forces XA Ford wagon pay car. The boss got it from the auctions. It was a beige colour (not sure if it was special order but I don't think I have seen that colour on other Fords) with a 2V 250 and had heaps of grunt for towing.

I used to love driving it, even loaded up and with the work speedboat on the back.

ps. I have read that the VF / G Hardtop shells were fully imported Dart shells, but the Darts used the shorter VE front section.

I guess Waltons was in NSW only. I remember going shopping there with my mother; I think there was one at Burwood in Sydney.

You're pretty close with the Val hardtops. They were effectively the Dart body. They came in as CKD kits, and had the VF/VG plenum and rails grafted onto them during manufacture. The Dart front (looks pretty much like the VE Valiant) was shorter, and wont swap onto the VF/VG without cutting the chassis rails.
