Hi Guys,

Im trying to find some good front seats for my LH 4 door.

I've already fitted these seats as per the pic.

My Car got broken into and the old interior stolen years ago and I was given these seats so I made them fit.

Does anybody have any idea what they are out of ???

Should I just get these trimmed since they are already fitted up to Torana rails???

If your car gets the sort of use where you need decent bolstering, make sure they have some sort of steel or solid reinforcing inside the bolsters. Often they look fine and feel OK sitting still but don't have the support when you need it. If they do have it then definitely keep them.

So the guy that put my roof lining in said they are Suzuki Swift GTI.

Ive looked on the net and sure enough they're from an 89 Suzuki Swift GTI.

Apparently they were all the rage when they came out, and are a design that Suzuki purchased from Recaro.

But I don't know what kind of quality they are.

My daughter had a GTi (before she wrote it off) and the seats weren't to bad to sit in and held you in place when racing around, now she has a Suzuki Ignis Sport with a full Recaro interior and those seats are just as comfortable and supporting.

Would you believe........ the seats have 3x holes tapped into the base that line up with the torana seat rails, and I had to weld the runner onto the position where the 4th hole would be. I then had to weld in a bit of metal running across the seat base to run the pin for the seat slider adjustment handle.

I wish I took pictures now that you've asked,

but a very easy fit, using the factory runners, they don't sit too high, the only thing is the seats wouldn't be very accommodating for a bigger bloke.

Yeah I've got some racing seats I bought 2nd hand and they're originally repco seats. I didnt end up putting them in because they're a really tight seat so I just use them for drinking sessions in the garage for the boys.

You have done a great job Ken,

It was one thing the Torana didn't have, side support around corners.

I remember being thrown into the door or hand brake ( caused by me ), as the suspension didn't budge. Dave I

p.s. thank-you for the easy fix
