Hi all,

Hoping someone maybe able to help me.  Did a bit of a search and could not find the info I was after.

Not after who has humped in the back seat of their LC but the specs around the two humps on the rear seat backs :)

I have a LC GTR but have a LJ 2 door SL rear seat.  Rather than paying eBay prices for another rear seat to be re-trimmed I was going to get my trimmer to bolster the rear seat backs with the two humps that the GTR and SL Torana's had with foam.  Does anyone have the dimensions of the rear seat humps?

I was after as much info as possible to help my trimmer.  If anyone has these dimensions they would be greatly appreciated.

1) height from the bottom of the seat back to the center top of the hump.

2) height from the bottom of the seat back to the top of the lower flat center section.

3) length of the hump.

4) depth of the hump.

Thanks

Steve.

Who is Maurie Mole?

It's a local (as far as I know) safety thing for kids from the mining subsidence board.

If you see a hole
Don't think you're a mole
Walk in the opposite direction
And report your detection

Exciting stuff...And obviously I've seen the ad too many times lol

Also my SL has the seat with the humps.

I think the pattern is different but the foam is the same.

If you don't have a hump it is probably an s seat.

Sorry guy's for the confusion, I made a typo.

"I have a LC GTR but have a LJ 2 door SL rear seat", should read "a LJ 2 door S rear seat", not SL.  It was out of my old LJ Torana S.

Thanks Col, I did grab those images of yours from another post so cheers for that.

I was after the measurements to convert the rear seat back foam from an S (flat) to a SL/GTR rear seat back as per the pic below.

first need to agree on bottom of seat at the  back, I used the bottom exposed  bar of the seat frame not the vinyl bit that curves away under that bar

bottom bar to top of hump centre  61.5 cm

                                flat centre section  57 cm

depth of hump  10 cm

hump has curves each end,

top length 46 cm

bot length  50 cm

extra, distance between humps measured between stitching

back of seat  22 cm

front of seat   23 cm

these two seems curve

I tried to line up tape with the piping

if confusing we can swap pics

so out of interest this topic has me curious...

should an LJ GTR  April 72 have the hump as standard for the rear seat or should it be flat ?

i am looking at the above for possible purchase and i would really like to know - as the car i am looking at is flat across the top rear seat.

TIA

Yep.

Don't write it off as an S though, there are plenty of other indicators.

This is what an LJ GTR rear seat should look like. This example is the 1973 50X vinyl the 1972 & early 1973 40X vinyl has a different grain pattern.

Your not gonna get any better than what Dave
has put up bud.if its flat then its not gtr or
sl.

Its either had a seat change or the car isnt
what its made out to be.

Cheers
