At first I thought they were pits so you could work on your gearbox etc. but you'd need someone to drive the car over you, lol,

They're for an in ground scissor lift, something like this:

About 5 years ago I painted the new concrete floor in one of my sheds with a product called "AquaPoxy. It is a 2 pack WATER BASED brew that is easy to use, easy to clean up brushes and rollers, won't lift with hot tyres contacting it and appears to be bullet proof against everything I have spilt or dribbled on it so far. One other great advantage over the solvent based 2 packs is it WON'T kill most of your brain cells breathing it in as you apply it. Purchased mine from Bristol Paints, assume they are in other states apart from Victoria. It is not cheap to buy, but then again none of the good ones are.

Yeah, they're a major paint supplier.

Well I etched the floor today. Masked up all the Zinc as per Gene's recomendation then acid hit the concrete. Floor now looks ready. Will get the Campoxy EFT560 this week and hopefully lay down the first coat on Wed night.

Bought the paint today. $491 including the thinners. Should be enough to cover 70sqm.

Make sure your all organised before mixing the two part epoxy. If it is that sort.
Edges taped, floor vacuumed. The stuff I used needed to sit for 20 mins before applying and then after covering 60metres I could feel it starting to go off. Mine had vinyl fleck to sprinkle on it which takes extra time but looks good. Be good to have second pair of hands if your doing the whole lot at once.

Bit of a thread dig. I'm wanting to paint the concrete floor in the wshop at my new house. It's got plenty of oil stains n stuff on it.
Being a colour bond shed I'm just a bit worried with the acid etching. Will duct tape say 100mm up all around the base be sufficient?

As long as you wash it down well, it wont hurt your shed :)

I bought a bondall? Single pack floor paint from masters. 3 years on, still perfect.

Sorry to raise the dead again but a quick question about the Bondall product. You ever notice how walking on some painted surfaces in thongs can be extremely slippery when wet, but other shoes or bare feet don't slip?
This is a big concern for me because I wear thongs most of the time!
Will be painting my new shed and garage floors in a few weeks and this is the only thing I'm worried about.

Nope. Not slippery at all.

It's now 5+ years and the floor is still holding up well.

Haha, this is Straya mate, we call them thongs. Flip flops. Double pluggers.

Nope. Not slippery at all.

It's now 5+ years and the floor is still holding up well.

Awesome, thanks
